Director Kay (Babatunde Kolawole) is a Nigerian Cinematographer, Filmmaker, and Creative Visionary with over 15 years of experience in the industry.

Born in Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria, in the month of September, he developed an early passion for visual storytelling. His journey began with photography, inspired by his love for nature. However, his creative expression found a deeper voice in motion photography, leading him to transition into cinematography, where he could tell more immersive and dynamic stories through video.

Over the years, Director Kay has trained over 30 students and continues to mentor aspiring creatives, with a vision to impact even more lives. His work stands out for its authenticity and depth, making him a respected figure in the industry.

  • He was part of a documentary with King’s College London titled Creative Women in Lagos: A Network and Documentary Film, highlighting the creative industry’s impact.
  • His latest project, The Evolution of ADIRE, has been nominated for the Pan African Film Festival (PAFF) 2025 in Los Angeles, further showcasing his commitment to cultural storytelling.
  • For three years, he served as the official media representative for Polo Club Ibadan, handling all media coverage for its prestigious tournaments.
  • He was an official media representative at One Music Africa Fest Dubai, where he documented the international music event.
